Every company generates CO² emissions, no matter how sustainably and economically it operates. Climate protection therefore also means keeping track of all emissions in order to be able to reduce or avoid them. We have been calculating the corporate carbon footprint of all German Eurasia sites since 2021, and we fully offset the emissions generated by our business activities at these sites through climate protection projects. This process not only allows us to keep track of our carbon footprint, it also raises awareness of the issue and helps all of us to become more climate neutral: Avoid – Reduce – Offset.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Climate protection and social justice: We take social responsibility seriously
Fair and sustainable consumption is increasingly important to people. And it is an integral part of Carstensen’s corporate culture: We are guided in our daily work by the careful use of natural resources, the reduction of the CO2 footprint of our company and each individual employee, fair working conditions and social responsibility.
Code of Conduct
In our Code of Conduct, we define the values and principles that Carstensen Import-Export Handelsgesellschaft mbH, its business partners and their supply chains are committed to implementing.
Our commitment to respecting human rights in our supply chain is also reflected in the Eurasia Policy Statement and grievance mechanism, which is applicable for the whole group.
ON OUR WAY TO BECOMING A CLIMATE-NEUTRAL COMPANY
In cooperation with ClimatePartner, we have decided to make many of our products 100% climate-neutral. All CO₂ emissions caused by these products are offset by investing in a climate protection project. Therefore, many products are 100% climate neutral and marked with the logo "Climate Neutral". More information about our climate neutrality and the positive effects of the supported project on climate, environment and society can be found here here.

STYLEX participates in the "Mülltrennung wirkt" initiative
Why is waste separation so important? Quite simply - because proper waste separation is sustainable. It conserves valuable resources, saves the environment from even more destruction and, last but not least, is cost-saving. Most of the recyclable materials in the waste can be sensibly recycled through waste separation. We are aware of the importance of this topic and from now on we support the initiative "Waste separation works" of the dual systems so that as many people as possible join in and separate packaging and residual waste correctly. Here we provide important tips and advice on how STYLEX packaging should be disposed of correctly so that it can be recycled. Learn more ...
As a member of amfori, the world’s leading business association for free and sustainable trade, we make our supply chain more socially responsible. OUR GUIDE TO GREATER SUSTAINABILITY
We reduce air business travel and avoid air freight as much as possible. We are also gradually converting our passenger car fleet to electric and hybrid vehicles as part of our sustainability strategy.
We of course comply with legal obligations regarding occupational health and safety and guarantee a working environment marked by respect, fairness and safety. We give everyone the opportunity to develop – regardless of gender, origin, age or religion.
WE FOCUS ON EMPLOYEE WELL-BEING
We have achieved a lot – but there is still a lot more to do
In order to meet our own standards and those of our customers, we continuously review our product range and our manufacturing processes to make them more ecological and socially responsible.
Our further goals as we aim for the highest sustainability standards:
- Ecovadis sustainability rating for the Carstensen group by the end of 2022
- Gradual reduction of unnecessary packaging and consistent use of recycled materials
- At least 50% climate-neutral products by the end of 2025
- 100% climate-neutral products by the end of 2028
